Cygnet Catering are delighted to provide catering services at By Brook Valley School.
Formed in 1996, Cygnet provide catering services to over 500 schools across the country offering a range of services from fully prepared and cooked on site for schools with commercial kitchens, to a delivered in hot or packed lunch service for schools without kitchens.
At Newton Longville School we provide a “Simplicity Service”. Main meal entrees and desserts are freshly prepared at our ISO 9001 Production Kitchen by a team of trained chefs, blast chilled and delivered into the school daily to be freshly cooked off in the school’s own mini kitchen. Locally sourced vegetables, for steam cooking, potatoes for crispy jackets, fruits for fresh fruit salad and salad ingredients are also delivered in to accompany the meal. Freshly baked bread is freely available with each meal served.
Our menu consists of 3 daily choices which are nutritionally balanced by our dedicated Nutritionist Roz Witney. Roz is pleased to liaise with parents on any special dietary requirements or to answer queries relating to the nutritional aspects of the menu. All GM products are banned, and we are actively working to incorporate more Farm Assured and Marine Stewardship products into our menus. Other environmental and sustainable initiatives such as reduction in chemical usage, operating distribution vehicles on bio diesel manufactured from cooking oils collected from our catering sites, reduction in landfill wastage by 50% and recycling of foils has recently earned us ISO 14001 accreditation.
